Emergency First Aid at Work
(Previously Emergency Aid for Appointed Persons)
This is a one day (6 hour) first aid at work course following HSE guidance which equips students with the knowledge and skills to manage and help with an incident until professional help arrives.
On this course, students will learn about:
- Assessing the situation
- Summoning help
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Causes of unconsciousness (including common medical conditions)
- Care of the unconscious casualty
- Recognition and first aid treatment of heart conditions and strokes
- Choking
- Wounds and the management of bleeding
- Treatment of burns and scalds
- Basic fracture management
All students will recieve a full training pack including current text book, stationery and a resuscitation face shield.
This course is an interactive mix of theory and the use of practical skills. A certificate of attendance is awarded to candidates and is valid for 3 years.
