The Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 state:
“Where an employers assessment of first aid needs indicates that a first aider is not necessary, the minimum requirement of an employer is to appoint a person to take charge of the first aid arrangements.”
An “appointed person is required to look after the first aid equipment and should ideally know how to use it.”
Our Course last for 6 hours (normally 1 day, although it can be run as 2 half-day sessions) and covers the following topics required by the Regulations:
- What to do in an emergency
- Resuscitation
- Care of the unconscious casualty
- First Aid for the wounded or bleeding
