Atrium. . . at the heart of Health & Safety

>

This half day training course is aimed at personnel within the workplace organisation who have responsibilities for fire safety. It encourages good practises in fire prevention by reinforcing them with knowledge of the relevant Health and Safety legal framework that is operable in the UK today.

For the Fire fighting practical it utilises state of the art simulators and live fire fighting equipment. Practise evacuation scenarios are also run along with a “building check” practise session in order to prepare the Fire Marshal for their duties. The key trainers are fire fighting professionals who as well as being experienced trainers, have for many years been in the front line and have a massive amount of experience in the fighting of fires. As such all our trainers are able to bring the subject to life in a lively, informal, fun and informative manner.

The course includes: -

  • An overview of relevant legislation
  • Fire, what is it and how does it occur
  • Fire prevention – Best practice for a safer workplace
  • Fire procedures, what are they and how do we develop them
  • Raising the alarm
  • Evacuation procedures (includes practical work) including people with special needs
  • Building clearance checks – how to minimise the risk
  • Use of fire extinguishers – safety, user maintenance, when and how to use them.
  • The fire risk assessment
  • Fire safety audit techniques

The course format is a mixture of structured classroom based lesson, multimedia presentations, group work, discussion, practical demonstrations and hands on practise.

All students will receive a certificate of attendance.

The course can be delivered at our training suite in Redwither Tower on the Wrexham industrial Estate or at your premises (provided there are a minimum number of students is 6, maximum is 12 per session and a suitable training venue).
