Manual and Automatic Resuscitators Course
This short course is designed for first aiders who work in businesses where their duties may involve administration of oxygen to casualties either by mask or via a resuscitator. Traditionally this has utilised the widely available MARS resuscitator from Sabre but it can be tailored to meet your organisations needs / resuscitator make.
The course includes the legalities of oxygen, indications, cautions and contra indications to its use, hazards of use, safe use of the specified equipment, user checks and maintenance, servicing requirements and set storage.
It is a mixture of theory and hands on practical during which students handle the equipment gaining familiarity with it and the confidence to utilise it if required. Students will administer oxygen therapy and utilise the oxygen resuscitator to resuscitate a manikin during the course.
There is a short assessment paper at the end of the course.
