This course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) and allows successful students to gain their Principles of Manual Handling certificate. It is aimed at anyone in the workplace who has to manual handle loads as part of their job. It introduces the key Health and Safety legislation, introduces the manual handling risk assessment and the principles of hazard and risk and gives examples of good practise to minimise the risk of manual handling injuries. It also outlines the basic anatomy and physiology of the spine and how we can be injured.
There is a short assessment paper at the end of the course.
