COVID-19 (5 JANUARY 2021)
As it stands, from week beginning 11 January 2021, our Face to Face First Aid courses will resume for those requiring essential training over the level 4 restrictions adhering to social distancing guidelines where reasonably practicable. Please note however, that the situation is changing daily and we will be monitoring government guidance closely. If we have to postpone courses, we will give as much notice as possible.
PPE is provided and mandatory in all activities that require less than 2 metres distance between individuals.
If you are booked on a course and would like to reschedule to a future date, that can be done free of charge. Please get in touch to re-arrange.
Our face to face occupational health services has been postponed but will resume as soon as we are down to the Welsh Alert Level 3 with some tests omitted as per Society of Occupational Medicine guidance.
The HSE is continuously amending guidance on First Aid during this time. Please check the following link regularly for the most current advice (NEW GUIDANCE ISSUED 24.09.2020)
Please note that the HSE has offered a further extension to the validity of First Aid certificates in Wales, England and Scotland to either the 1st October or 6 months after the expiry date, whichever is later, with all requalification to be completed by March 31 2020. This is for certificates expiring on or after the 16th March 2020. Please see latest announcements on the HSE link above (this is for First Aid at Work and Emergency First Aid at Work only). Anyone taking advantage of this extension should be able to describe clearly their reasons for delaying re-qualification training, and demonstrate steps they have taken to undertake the training required. If you are inspected, it is expected that your first aid training has been booked.
During this outbreak, the UK Resuscitation Council has released the following guidelines when administrating CPR
