IOSH Managing Safely

What you need to know

This is a course for managers and supervisors in any sector and any organisation, covering health and safety management basics. It is designed to get managers up to speed on the practical actions they need to take to handle health and safety in their teams.

This flexible, high impact programme covers all the main health and safety issues likely to be encountered in any workplace. Course content is based on what delegates need to know in practice, with clear scenarios managers can relate to.

It is a sophisticated course delivered with a fun presentation, high quality animated graphics and a range of ready-to-use training tools, including board games, case study films and quizzes. The course duration is 22 hours in total, spread (typically) over 3 or 4 days and covers 7 modules.

The course covers:

  • Introducing ‘Managing Safely’
  • Assessing risks
  • Controlling risks
  • Understanding your responsibilities
  • Identifying hazards
  • Investigating accidents and incidents
  • Measuring performance

Delegates who successfully complete the written and practical assessments at the end of the course are awarded The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Certificate in Managing Safely.   All delegates receive a full training pack containing course manual and stationery. Refreshments and lunches are included for the duration of the course.
