What you need to know
This course is designed for school staff, looking after employees and visitors who become ill or injured and need basic assistance until professional help arrives.
This course is also available to be taught in Welsh.
The course covers the following topics:
- Assessing the situation
- Child and Adult Resuscitation
- Causes of Unconsciousness
- Care of the Unconscious Casualty
- Heart Attack and Angina
- Choking
- Wounds and Bleeding
- Basic treatment of Fractures
The course is 5-6 hours in duration and can either be delivered in one 6 hour session or 2 x 3 hour sessions after school. All delegates are awarded a Certificate of Attendance.
