CPR/Automated External Defibrillator Course

What you need to know

This half day (4 hour) course will enable the student to assess a collapsed, non-breathing casualty, perform CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) to increase the casualty’s chance of survival. Students must produce a current First Aid at Work certificate by a nationally recognised body.

Topics covered include:

  • Casualty assessment
  • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Understanding, recognition and treatment for heart attacks
  • How an AED works and how to use safely
  • Practical sessions on CPR
  • Setting up an AED and practise in using one safely
  • How to place the casualty in the recovery position

Students will receive a full training pack including current text book, stationery and resuscitation face shield along with a certificate of competence valid for 1 year.
