What you need to know
This is a 3.5 hour annual course.
The HSE strongly recommends that first-aiders undertake annual refresher training during any three-year First Aid at Work certification period. This will help qualified first-aiders maintain their basic skills and keep up-to-date with any changes to first-aid procedures.

This course covers both theoretical and practical work and includes the following subjects:
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (for adults, children and babies).
- Management of the unconscious casualty
- Recovery position
- Treatment and control of bleeding.
- Treatment of shock
- Any other First Aid requirements a candidate may require in the workplace
Certificates of Attendance are awarded to candidates. Certificates are valid for one year.
